Meryl Streep is Julia Child and Amy Adams is Julie Powell in writer-director Nora Ephron’s adaptation of two bestselling memoirs: Powell’s Julie & Julia and My Life in France, by Julia Child with Alex Prud’homme. Based on two true stories, Julie & Julia intertwines the lives of two women who, though separated by time and space, are both at loose ends…until they discover that with the right combination of passion, fearlessness and butter, anything is possible.
About Pictures Employment Opportunities Help
Julie and Julia is a 2009 American parody show movie composed and coordinated by Nora Ephron featuring Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, Stanley Tucci, and Chris Messina. The film differentiates the life of gourmet specialist Julia Child in the early long periods of her culinary profession with the life of youthful New Yorker Julie Powell, who tries to cook every one of the 524 plans in Child’s cookbook in 365 days, a test she portrayed on her well known blog that made her a distributed author.
Ephron’s screenplay is adjusted from two books: My Life in France, Child’s life account composed with Alex Prud’homme, and a diary by Powell, Julie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen (later retitled Julie and Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously). Both of these books were composed and distributed in a similar time span (2004–06). Powell’s book depended on her blog The Julie/Julia Project, where she recorded online her day by day encounters cooking every one of the 524 plans in Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking. The film is the primary significant movie dependent on a blog.
In March 2008, Ephron started taping with Streep as Child and Adams as Powell. On July 30, 2009, the film authoritatively debuted at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York; and, on August 7, 2009, it opened all through North America. It got positive audits from pundits, who applauded Streep’s exhibition. Streep and Adams recently featured together in Doubt (2008). Streep and Tucci recently featured together in The Devil Wears Prada (2006).
Julie and Julia was Ephron’s last film before her demise in 2012.
